Please list your major(s) and minor(s).
Major: RMI, Minor: International Business
Provide a general description of the work at your internship.
Focused on the different sectors of Risk Management throughout the Bank, worked one-on-one with executives and shadowed them, worked on a personal project and also a group intern project and presented to the US CRO and Head of US ORM
Did you have a mentor?
Yes
If so, how did he/she help you during your internship?
She was influential to my growth and development during my time at the bank. We currently have a strong relationship and she offered to continue to mentor me when I begin full time.
Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
I thought the classes gave me a good background going into the experience. The classes I am currently taking (RMI 3505 &4597) apply more to the internship I had. I wish I had the opportunity to take those classes sooner, but I understand the curriculum is specifically set up that way.
Interviewing/Hiring Process Comments:
I thought they asked harder questions than usual. The interview process was also pretty lengthy in the sense you have to talk to a lot of people. They also got back to me in an extremely timely manner.
Were you assigned any special projects? If so please describe.
I was assigned two different projects while working with the bank; a personal project and a group intern project. The personal project has me highlighting some of the key candidates in the presidential election and then relate them to certain risks and how they can ultimately affect the bank. I had the opportunity to present this to the Head of ORM and Resolution and Recovery as well as to the entire ORM team during a monthly meeting. The group intern project has the interns doing research on Tableu and how It could ultimately help the bank and make data easier to understand. This project was presented to the ORM and ERM executives, as well as the Head of Risk for the US.
What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay?
Internship lunches, Happy Hour
Describe the company's internship program
The program itself was very well put together. The work load kept me busy all summer and it was constantly changing. My team held me accountable and allowed me to show them my talents and what I have learned throughout my time here at Temple. It overall was a very positive experience and a very good work environment.
Was the internship what you expected after the interviewing/hiring process?
I think It exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect to learn or be so involved in their day to day activities. It was a perfect balance.
Were you provided time off besides the weekend?
Yes, they were very willing to work with my schedule and unexpected mishaps.
