Academic Distinction is NOT a requirement to become a member. This distinction is merely a way to recognize those who have excelled academically while completing RMI or AS courses.
Click here to show the criteria for membership with academic distinction
To obtain Membership with Academic Distinction, one of the following criteria is needed to qualify:
  1. Risk Management and Insurance majors must have completed RMI 2101 and any two upper-level 3000+ RMI courses while maintaining a major GPA of 3.5 or better in those three courses.
  2. Actuarial Science majors must have completed AS 1501, RMI 2101 and any one upper-level 2000+ AS course while maintaining a major GPA of 3.5 or better in those three courses.
