1. Review Types of Membership section below and fill out a Membership Application Form
2. The Gamma Venmo account is @sigmachapter
3. Please ensure the payment lists New Member in the description. For payment description, enter your first and last name, type of membership, and your Temple email address.
(Example: Payment: $75 | Payment Description: Patrick Bischke, New Member, [email protected])
4. Your transaction will be "Liked" on Venmo as confirmation of your dues payment within 3 days.

Types of Membership:
New Membership: $75
- Membership in an International Organization recognized by the risk management, insurance and actuarial science industries. (Fee covers initial membership fee to the Grand Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma)
- An official Certificate of Membership in the International Organization.
- A New Member Packet with a Gamma Iota Sigma pin and Sigma Chapter t-shirt
- Invitation to the 33rd Annual Gamma Gala in Spring 2024, where new members will be inducted into the International Organization
- Invitation to attend the 35th Annual Awards for Excellence Dinner in Spring 2024
- Student memberships in the following professional societies:
- Casualty Actuary Society (CAS)
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Society (CPCU)
- International Association of Insurance Professionals

Returning Membership: $0

Academic Distinction
Purpose: To recognize current members who have achieved academic excellence in either risk management and insurance, or actuarial science studies.
Academic Distinction is NOT a requirement to become a member. This distinction is merely a way to recognize those who have excelled academically while completing RMI or AS courses.

To obtain Membership with Academic Distinction, one of the following criteria is needed to qualify:
- Risk Management and Insurance majors must have completed RMI 2101 and any two upper-level 3000+ RMI courses while maintaining a major GPA of 3.5 or better in those three courses.
- Actuarial Science majors must have completed AS 1501, RMI 2101 and any one upper-level 2000+ AS course while maintaining a major GPA of 3.5 or better in those three courses.
- MS and MBA candidates are automatically eligible for Membership with Academic Distinction.
You only need to apply for Academic Distinction once in your collegiate career. Only select classes which qualify you for academic distinction. Do not select additional classes beyond the required amount.
