This summer Scott interned at Corporate Synergies in Mt.Laurel, NJ. He worked on QRF proposals, spreadsheet benefits, preparing communication bulletins, and other miscellaneous projects. He also assisted three teams in ongoing account management. Scott did not have a mentor. The most helpful thing from his RMI classes was knowing the terminology, this knowledge was extremely helpful in understanding the job tasks.
His interview process consisted of only one round, but it took a long time for the company to respond back due to budget issues. One of the special projects he was assigned was completing a license check. He had to go through censuses and see what states the company’s brokers needed to be licensed based on the clients’ employee locations. Unfortunately he did not receive any supplemental benefits. Scott really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, and the challenging work load. Also, all the employees were very helpful and were always there to assist him. However, there weren’t any outside work activities which was disappointing. Since he was the first intern, there wasn’t too much structure to the program yet, however, he still had a great time and would recommend working for Corporate Synergies!
