Provide a general description of the work at your internship.
I rotated through Claims, Customer Experience, and Underwriting.
Did you have a mentor?
Yes
If so, how did he/she help you during your internship?
I had a mentor in each rotation and they helped guide me, introduced me to people and were there for anything I needed.
Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
Yes, I was prepared and was familiar with a lot of the policies covered in several classes.
Interviewing/Hiring Process Comments:
They love open and driven candidates with strong communication skills.
Were you assigned any special projects? If so please describe.
Yes, throughout each rotation we had a specific project and then a final summer project that summed up our entire experience presented for the C-suite.
What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay?
We had internship lunches, relocation bonus, escape room experience with interns and senior leadership, dinner with the CEO, weekly lunches with members of the C-suite and end of the summer party.
Describe the company's internship program.
Work load was enough that you were busy but could still have lunches and talk to other people in the company, the outside work activities were a lot fun.
Was the internship what you expected after the interviewing/hiring process?
Yes, I was very well prepared.
Were you provided time off besides the weekend?
Yes we received two days off for July 4th.

Rotated through the claims, underwriting, and customer experience (underwriting assistants) departments.
Did you have a mentor?
Yes
If so, how did he/she help you during your internship?
Provided me with work, informed me about the company/ company culture, advice on presentations, advice on how to work with others.
Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
Yes, there were many things I knew about that other interns did not.
Interviewing/Hiring Process Comments:
Met with campus recruiters at intern reception, had on campus interview, received an offer over the phone a few weeks after the interview.
Were you assigned any special projects? If so please describe.
During my claims rotation I did special investigation work to see if any claimants were committing fraud. During my customer experience rotation I analyzed the underwriting assistant (UA) incentive program to determine if there were any correlations between the work UAs did and those who won the incentive. During my underwriting rotation I completed loss control applications and underwriting workbooks for different accounts.
What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay?
Dinner with executives, Escape the Room activity, lunches with mentors, offered sign on bonus for relocation expenses.
Describe the company's internship program.
Interns were treated as equals, ability to meet with anyone in the company, sufficient work load, friendly culture, interns often met for happy hours ourselves and grew close.
Was the internship what you expected after the interviewing/hiring process?
The internship was better than what I expected from the interview/hiring process. Everyone in the company was supportive and wanted to help us succeed.
Were you provided time off besides the weekend?
Off for day after 4th of July.
