Angela’s internship with CPCU was right here in Malvern, PA so there wasn’t much adapting to a new environment. Some of her daily tasks included writing sample questions for the CPCU exams, and even corresponding with CPCU students and answering their questions about the material. She thought that the company was great, and the employees even better. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic about his/her job. She did not have a mentor there. Luckily, the RMI classes paid off, and her boss was very impressed with her knowledge of the CPCU Institute, the industry, and her familiarity of various insurance policies.
This internship was exactly what she expected based on the interview. It did take a while to hear back from her interviewer, but once she had the interview she started the following week. Some benefits that she enjoyed were the free and delicious every day lunches, free CPCU exams and some free testing materials. Angela’s favorite things about her internship was assisting CPCU students, flexible work load and hours, relaxed atmosphere, and the knowledgeable employees who offered great advice and feedback. The only downfall was the hour long commute and also there wasn’t much to do other than the assigned tasks. She would definitely recommend the American Institute for CPCU for other students.
