Jonathan interned at Marsh in New Orleans, and he thought the move was relatively easy, and the city was very friendly and easy to adapt to. While there, he sat next to the broker all day and did exactly what he did. He also got to work on an intern summer project where he had to create an RFP for the Chicago 2016 Olympics. He also had to do some community service. Jon feels that the RMI classes were great for exposing students to the industry, so “you’re not walking in with no idea what’s going on”.
The internship was not what he expected after the interview process. For his interview he was flown out to NOLA for a day for the interview, when most of the office was gone anyway, so he didn’t really think that was necessary. What he liked most about his time at Marsh was that the people there were astoundingly friendly, which he credits to them being from the south. Also, his co-workers were very helpful in helping him adjust to NOLA. He would have liked to have some more summer internship projects. He would definitely recommend Marsh to other students.
