Andrew spent all twelve weeks of his summer interning with Willis of Pennsylvania. He spent most of his time working on construction projects assisting with general maintenance of client accounts. He had a new task each day, including attending client meetings, shadowing employees, and visiting construction sites. He was assigned a special project where he was responsible for quoting a bid for a $15 million construction project. Andrew felt his risk management classes assisted him a lot in the internship because he had a strong background in the general business information and his knowledge of the industry terminology helped him a lot as well.
Andrew excelled during the interview process and impressed recruiters by asking a question about company evaluation that stumped the recruiters. At Willis, Andrew found a mentor with the recruiter he interviewed with and helpful, competent coworkers. He enjoyed the friendly, flat hierarchy and the relaxed atmosphere of the company. Andrew does wish the internship was more structured, but he still recommends this company to other students.
