Provide a general description of the work at your internship.
I underwrote and quoted accounts. I bound about 75k in premium for the company.
Did you have a mentor?
No
Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
Yes, i know the basic knowledge of terms that where covered in classes.
Interviewing/Hiring Process Comments:
Everyone was very nice and accommodating and the process smooth.
Were you assigned any special projects? If so please describe.
I was asked to make a group presentation on how Hiscox could incorporate AI more into a division in the company. Also did an individual project that broke down brokers and who brought in the most business, in which reason and the conclusion was for whom Hiscox should focus more marketing on.
What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay?
3 internship lunches
Describe the company's internship program.
It seemed less like an internship and more like i was working full time without all the authority that I should have had had I been working full-time. There weren't many activities that they brought me too outside of the work place.
Was the internship what you expected after the interviewing/hiring process?
Not exactly, i wasn't really sure what to expect
Were you provided time off besides the weekend?
Yes for all holidays, and i took 3 days friday plus the weekend to fly home.
