Provide a General Description of the Internship. Include daily tasks completed, the company and its employees, and any other information.
Rotated through the different departments on a weekly basis, the remaining 5 weeks of the internship I was with different team leads for account management. During this time I was spreadsheeting carrier rates to compare with current plan. I worked on average 35 hours a week, the dress was casual therefore I could wear jeans and sneakers everyday to work if I wanted to!
Did you have a mentor?
No
If so, how did he/she help you during your internship?
N/A
Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
Yes, I felt I had a very general understanding of the basics and felt prepared to do any assignment, when sitting in on phone calls I was able to understand what they were talking about with the information I have learned from my classes.
Interviewing/Hiring Process Comments:
Talked to recruiters at the Reception, then had an in person interview with the VP of Account Management after that I received an email from a member of the company asking for a phone call, and was hired during the phone call.
Were you assigned any special projects? If so please describe.
N/A
What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay? (Internship Lunches, Housing, Sports Games, Happy Hours, etc.)
I participated in a company lunch that occurred outside the office in the parking lot with food and games
Describe the company's internship program(atmosphere, work load, work, housing, outside work activities, etc.).
The atmosphere was very laid back and I oversaw what the different departments did and was glad to help in anyway they needed too. I was apart of a training session that all new hires go through and it was nice meeting some of their newly hired employees. I was given time on my own to work on any assignments or tasks they needed done with little guidance.
Was the internship what you expected after the interviewing/hiring process?
Yes
Were you provided time off besides the weekend?
I had off for the fourth of july! When I had an emergency and called off they were very understanding
