Provide a general description of the work at your internship.
I worked on reports tracking workers compensation incidents and auto claims stats each month through a TPA. I also worked on COIs and the accuracy of the information on them and putting them into electronic form.
Did you have a mentor?
Yes
If so, how did he/she help you during your internship?
They allowed me to sit in on meetings and go on loss control field trips with them. They also have become someone I can go to with questions or when I need school/career advice in general.
Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
Yes.
Were you assigned any special projects?
Making all COIs accurate with new insured name and moving paper to electronic folders.
What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay?
Intern lunches
Describe the company's internship program.
Not a structured program, I was the only intern. The work load was not too heavy and the things I was doing was interesting and not just busy work. Great atmosphere and everyone there really wanted me to learn and were open to helping me.
Was the internship what you expected after the interviewing/hiring process?
Yes.
Were you provided time off besides the weekend?
Yes.
