Amanda worked for Buck Consultants this past summer. Buck Consultants is a global employee benefits and human resource consulting firm, which helps firms better manage their human capital. Being a dual major, her RMI and Actuarial Science courses have prepared her for all aspects of the job. Her duties consisted of creating and updating analysis reports, attending Health and Productivity Practice meetings, and working with various databases. She was fortunate to work on a Pharmaceutical project researching clients and competitors. Amanda worked with a fellow intern assembling company profiles and industry trend reports.
Amanda was able to collaborate with senior associates, and attend weekly “Lunch and Learn.” Her favorite thing about the internship was the atmosphere, both office and city. She loved being given the option to join one of Buck’s sports teams, which include volleyball, softball, and baseball. Her summer housing was very convenient for friends and family to visit, and gave her to opportunity to diversify her interests. She would recommend the company, but would have enjoyed more challenging work assignments.
