Actuarial Science
Provide a general description of the work at your internship.
- Collaborated with clients and claims adjusters to quickly process claims
- Interpreted information and data given by clients to set up 25+ claims daily in the HSB system
- Responsible for the receipt and documentation of new losses; distributed notice of losses to adjusters and insureds

Did you feel your RMI/AS classes better prepared you for the internship?
The introductory RMI/AS classes were helpful in learning and understanding basic insurance terminology. 
What were the supplemental benefits besides the pay? 
There were office events such as a World Cup tournament bracket, a Kan Jam tournament, and frequent raffles. Additionally, the office occasionally had free breakfasts and lunches, usually during busy times.
Describe the company's internship program.
The position helped learn about the claims process, with exposure to underwriting, loss surveying, and policy services. The office atmosphere was overall friendly and receptive to questions. Coworkers went out of their way to make interns feel welcome.

Were you provided time off besides the weekend?

Yes, the office was closed for Memorial Day and Fourth of July.
