Nick worked at Allstate in New Jersey, where his commute was pretty short so there wasn’t much adapting. His interview process consisted of a sit-down where he showed his resume, and then he started working later on in the day. There were eight employees in the office and he did have a mentor. His daily tasks included gathering lead sources, organizing many lines of insurance and their policies, office work, sitting in on many corporate meetings, and giving opinions on the new sales approach. Nick thought that the P & C book for the producer’s license was very similar to the policies he learned about in 3502.
A special project he worked on was designing a referral program that would help boost sales in his agency. He thought of a gift card incentive for the clients to refer their friends to Allstate. Some benefits of his internship were the lunches, golf outings, happy hours, and the all state convention/dinner. He really liked the work environment where the people were very friendly. The work load was what he expected and he enjoyed helping out wherever he was needed. He didn’t really like when there were slow days at the office with not much work to do. He would recommend Allstate to all other students.
